Northern BC (north of 100 Mile House) has enhanced amounts that do not apply to Vancouver Island; we list southern-BC figures only. - We reconciled this page against the official CleanBC Energy Savings Program page. Confirmed: heat pumps up to $13,000 (amount depends on the fuel you are switching from), heat pump water heaters up to $3,500, add-ons for electrical/ventilation/health-and-safety work, three income levels reaching $189,800 for a family of four (Level 3 is for ground-oriented homes switching off gas, propane or oil), pre-registration required with a 3-month code, and rebates paid through program-registered contractors. This corrects the "up to $16,000" figure previously reported here, which circulated in industry articles but does not appear on the official program page.
- Income-qualified Energy Savings Program heat pump amounts stand at up to $16,000, following increases to the program. Combined space and water heating packages reach higher totals depending on income tier.
- The standard-stream fuel-switching rebate (natural gas, oil or propane to heat pump) ended for southern BC, including all of Vancouver Island. Northern BC retained enhanced fuel-switching amounts. This is the single most misunderstood change we encounter: many Victoria homeowners still expect a large rebate for a gas-to-heat-pump conversion under the standard stream.
- Program budgets reset each fiscal year and have historically been exhausted by late summer or fall in high-demand years. Early-year applications carry meaningfully less funding risk.
