Natural Gas Fireplace Rebate
If you buy a new natural gas fireplace, insert or freestanding stove and upgrade to an eligible Ener-Choice® model, you will get a rebate of $300.
Conditions to be met to get the rebate:
1. You should be:
a. A residential natural gas customer and FortisBC gas account holder, or
b. The owner of a strata unit in FortisBC’s gas service area.
2. The purchase of your EnerChoice® fireplace should be mentioned in the eligible fireplace list.
The rebate is on selected EnerChoice® models.
3. Your application should be postmarked within 60 days of the purchase date.
Rebate on Replacing a Wood Stove
The Province of BC and local communities offers rebates on exchanging wood stoves with cleaner burning options like natural gas fireplaces. Such rebates are independent of FortisBC and have their own eligibility criteria
Natural Gas Furnace & Boiler Rebates
If you replace your old natural gas furnace or boiler with an eligible ENERGY STAR® model, you will get a $500 rebate on a boiler or up to $700 on a furnace.
• Rebate on 95 to 96.9 Percent Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) Furnace
You will get $500 rebate on upgrading your old natural gas furnace to 95 to 96.9 percent AFUE furnace.
• Rebate on 97 to 99 Percent AFUE Gas Furnace
FortisBC® offers a rebate of $700 when you upgrade your furnace to 97 to 99 percent AFUE gas furnace.
• Rebate on 94 Percent or Higher AFUE Boiler
On upgrading your old boiler to 94 percent or higher AFUE boiler, you will get a rebate of $500.
ENERGY STAR® Natural Gas Furnace or Boiler
Get a rebate of $1300 without any additional water heater rebate by installing a natural gas furnace or boiler from ENERGY STAR®.
Requirements
• Convert primary heating source from oil, propone or wood to natural gas
• Install an eligible furnace or boiler
ENERGY STAR® Natural Gas Furnace or Boiler and Standalone Water Heater
Install or replace your old water heater or boiler with the new ENERGY STAR® natural gas furnace or boiler and standalone water heater and you can get a rebate of $1700 and an additional water heater rebate from $200-$1000.
Requirements
• Convert primary heating source from oil, propone or wood to natural gas
• Install an eligible furnace or boiler and natural gas water heater that meets BC code requirements
Combination Heating and Hot Water System
If you install a combination of heating and hot water system you’ll get a rebate of $1700 and an additional water heater rebate of $1000.
Requirements
• Convert your primary heating source from oil, propane or wood to natural gas
• You need to install an eligible combination heating and hot water system
• Only condensing tankless water heaters models are applicable to this system so the additional rebate is $1,000
BC Hydro Heat Pump Rebate
Customers switching from oil, propane, or natural gas to an electric heat pump will be eligible for a rebate of $3,000 from BC Hydro. This new rebate is in addition to the CleanBC rebate, for a maximum total rebate of $6,000. Requirements apply, contact us for details.
